I am not a newby to Linux, but I am a newby to MPlayer DVD.
I got it set up on my SuSE-9.3 box, and it plays DVD movies - In German!
I found what appears to be the place to set this in the gui, but ti has a red device
I have never seen before on the tab, and it is empty when an attempt to open it is made.

Would appreciate any help I can get on where and how to change this.

Many thanks, in advance~

With a combination of some research and quite a bit of luck, I have resolved my issue. It is a matter of selecting the proper combination of video and audio codecs. When that is accomplished, the option to select languages becomes operable. And, as German is not one of the options, it had to be the combination of codecs that was software translating the DVD audio stream; I still don't know how that happened. The playback was definitely in German - spent a bit over 3 years incountry there during military days, and I understood quite a lot of it.
Many thanks to those who were working up a reply.
