Topic - Increasing video Brightness

I have taken a video with my camera in very low light conditions.
Is there a method with mplayer/mencoder that i can increase the brightness. If I use mplayer -brightness 100 the play back is acceptable (just).
I need to copy the video with increased brighness.

Sorry about this but I run XP PRO SP2
