Just in case you guys didnt know, these guys have teamed up with the current owners of the original software and have been updating it to work with today's architecture. They added an mplayer builder blog to give updates on its status.

Ive been in the beta program for a while now using another client, but now that the original pop software has been acquired, the older one will be discontinued to work on the REAL mplayer software.

I would recommend signing up to the site to keep track of the news that they post, it shouldn't be long now. the address is They have a full social network system on there and the owners and moderators are pretty interactive with the community, which is a great thing!

see you guys there!

Just another quick update. As many of you know, the original mplayer software was acquired and has been updated to work with the latest in hardware and software for today's standards. All classic games have been updated and are supported. Screenshots are posted to show the progress on the developer thread so be sure to keep an eye out on all the new updates.

When it comes to the real deal guys, this is it. Exciting times!
