It's the year 2006 and although the Internet has provided us with a large magnitude of game sites, including all the bells and whistles, there has never been another site that can match the environment of Mplayer. It was like being in a dark bar, with your favorite friends and drunks - some happy, some nasty - and God forbid anyone in hearts attempted to play with you with a lower thank than yours *unheard of*.

Capcumbac, Hoffa, Finstergal, Snow - the list goes on and on. I can honestly say that whenever I play hearts online these days, which is very rare, I stil carry with me the proper protocol of Myplayer Heart's players - and it doesn't welcome many friends lol. Always go after low guy - or how can you attempt to win? Never pass high guy a naked Q, K or A. If trying for lowguy - and you pass the queen to someone, pass backup with it. And for crying out loud - DON'T YOU DARE FORGET TO PASS A LOW HEART.
When I first started playing there it was more of a novelty for me. My boyfriend at the time had contracted a horrific addiction to the site *giggles* - and I wanted to see what was really going on there. This was before seeme/hearme jumped on the bandwagon and took the site into a totally different direction. My ex was a die-hard hearts player - and took the game very seriously. Anyone above a Spade did. (ranks - club *u just shldn't bother plaing* diamond *you really shldn't bother playing either* heart *okay maybe you just made the name* spade *moving up in the ranks son jack *now we're talking, you've learned some skill*, Queen *my favorite*. My ex never believed that I could go from a "play for fun" player to a serious player as he was, as most were above a spade ranking. I proved him wrong - I became as cut-throat and serious about the game as some of the best players there - and there were many. In fact - I won $100 twice in heart's tourny's there. My oh my, was I pleased - it was like winning the lotto (I was young - what can I say? lol).
A lot of friendship's were born on Myplayer, my ex and I were widely known, first as a couple and then as the worst enemies ever. My dear friend BJ, now he was a friend to remember - the best gentlemen ever, the funniest and the most wonderful friend ever. We met in real life as well, and he was the same wonderful gentlemen in person as he was online - so many years later and we're still trying to talk to each other - it's been email and phone tag for months. There was another Brian dude there, UGH - can you say hack me? Now there's an experience I don't care to share lol. 2 friends of mine from the site actually drove down and had Thanksgiving dinner with me and my family - bringing me a very special crystal gift - which I still have with me today. I wasn't big on Spades there - although for a few months I caught that minor addiction - and that's where I met one of my best friends ever - PrettiRosi - that's not her realname - I don't want to enter her realname online. We met in a game - we were P's - and we knew right away that we had the same attitude and humor. As it turned out - we lived less than 10 minutes away from each other and once we met in person - we were instant family. We live in different States now - but our friendship is still strong.
The old goes away and the present becomes the future - and memories get stored in the past. My memories of Mplayer will live with me a lifetime. Some wonderful and happy. Some hysterically funny and insane, some painful and awful (I lost my ex to someone on Mplayer), but with all of the good and bad - and all the many years that have gone by - I would jump at the opportunity to play on Mplayer again. I've often tried searches on the Net to find the old players, see if there was a place where the old players kept in touch - but my searches end up with no results. I miss it, I really do. The Site, The Friends, The Rankings, The Skill, all of it. Even the funniest sounds ever in gammon. "friend moos".

If anyone has any idea at all where the old players are hiding themselves or keeping in touch - please let me know. You can find me at [email protected]. I delete emails from people I don't know - so please refer to this posting in the subject line. Thanks!

To any and all old players - I hope life has been well .... and I know you haven't found anywhere to fulfill the true addiction that Mplayer placed within all our hearts.
