Does anyone have any news about why Livve fell off the face of the Earth? I am not real savvy about these things. I am just a player who missed her backgammon leagues.
<br/>If none of the admin who hosted on LIvve for backgammon have heard anything from Livve at all, does this not mean that they are gone for good? If it had been just a couple days of updating servers or something, wouldn't they have warned people about that?
<br/>Seems to me they must have gone bye-bye for less than honorable reasons since they poofed with no word to anyone.
<br/>One thing I saw posted about them here was surely true. They were poorly run. No tech help, tons of emails when I needed help with log in went out before they left and not one of those emails were answered or even auto-responded. I emailed billing, tech support, etc with nothing.
<br/>But the point here is: Where did they go and what happened?<img src="http://mplayer.org/mplayer.org/cbs_mad.gif" alt=":mad:" title="mad" longdesc="" height="20" width="20" />
<br/>Anyone?

Assholes?
<br/>
<br/>Look i will lay this out for you ..
<br/>
<br/>Mplayer was split into 2 companies in 1999 Mpath Interactive that ran the gaming side of the service and HearMe that ran the video chat side of the service.
<br/>
<br/>They even had 2 different sets of icons for employees.
<br/>The reason they did this was because Gamespy had put on the pressure for 2 years trying to buy Mplayer out to get the users.
<br/>So the owners split the company the chat and matchmaking code was owned by Mplayer/Mpath interactive and the audio codec pop.x and video codec was owned by hearme
<br/>
<br/>GSA Bought Mplayer as we all know and HearMe was bought by Paltalk. You can go to hearme.com and look at the bottom of the page to see this info is correct!
<br/>
<br/>They made a deal with livve.com before the sell out but both codecs used in livve .com still owned by GSA and Hearme/AKA paltalk. Livve.com's lease ran out and GSA was sold to FOX this caused new contracts to be aquired from the new owners and Paltalk never wanted the cometition from Livve anyway.
<br/>Maybe one day Mark Stephenson the owner of this site can post here and give the official story.

Livve.com software was leased from &quot;gamespy&quot; thats right they owned the software that livve was using. &quot;GSA IGN&quot; sold out to FOX so no more livve. If mplayerlivve is so good why is the door closed for downloads..maybe because those big bad servers are in beta test and they are afraid to take on the croud lol whatever ..dude have some ballz open the doors.<img src="http://mplayer.org/mplayer.org/cbs_madlaugh.gif" alt="8)" title="mad laugh" longdesc="" height="28" width="28" />

If you go to <a href="http://www.livve.com" target="_blank">www.livve.com</a> there is finally a page up. Someone is working on something bc it shows the name of the page offerer. It has a message saying they are experiencing technical difficulties and asking us to stand by.

Ok...I have to admit. I've been MIA for a while. Had lots to do. So I just recently heard about Livve going down with no clues as to why. But honestly...who gives a shit? There are so many other places to go to. All it is is a site for people to hang out OCCASSIONALY to talk with their friends. I mean honestly people. Ok try this...tomorrow morning when you all get up...instead of turning on your PC's take your showers, brush your teeth and...here we go...GO OUTSIDE! Its called the outdoors. You know...the big entryway leading out into the REAL WORLD! LOL. Yeah hanging here can be fun sometimes, but try getting some sunlight on those pasty complexions!! You never know...you may like it! No offense to those who do have a real life besides their PC's. Ciao peeps!<img src="http://www.mplayer.org/mplayer.org/cbs_grin.gif" alt=":grin:" title="grin" longdesc="" height="20" width="20" />

Oh Come off it SeeMePlayMe, sounds more like a pedophile site. Just because you can't hang with Livve or Gamespy or MPlayerLive doesn't mean you need to bring it here.....and I hope this isn't one of those fpath people trying to start a fight again....especially after their owner was so cool about posting earlier.
<br/>
<br/>Shame always fighting.

Livve is down, but from what I hear it's because they lost their contract with paltalk. As for mplayerlive people are free to signup on the main site last time I checked. They just get approved first. I'm on their service and it seems pretty cool so far honestly. It's not as good as the original mplayer yet, but it seems to have alot of potential and keeps growing. meh we'll all see

Mplayer Live Public beta release date Spring '06 (March 20th) ... feel free to see who is scared. <a href="http://www.mplayerlive.com," target="_blank">www.mplayerlive.com,</a> Sorry that they like to offer a web developed product with limited bugs.

anonymous - Posted on Monday, March 6 2006 12:24:00 PM
LiVVe went down with no word. A bunch of us hopped on that mplayer live service, but they don't have as much yet. Dunno, but mplayer live is honoring livve plus accounts up to 3 months from what I've read on their site.
anonymous - Posted on Thursday, March 9 2006 09:30:00 PM

Lmao, where's the proof of this spyware and viruses?
<br/>I'd love the proof, but because there is none, sorry.
<br/>The only advertisement MPL runs is a small box at the top of advertisers, not through any ad-revenue service. Go blow yourself SeeMePlayMe <img src="http://www.mplayer.org/mplayer.org/cbs_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="smile!" longdesc="" height="20" width="20" /> We all know about you Albert and us users at MPlayerLive have left your service long ago. You're going nowhere fast <img src="http://www.mplayer.org/mplayer.org/cbs_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="smile!" longdesc="" height="20" width="20" />

anonymous - Posted on Tuesday, March 7 2006 12:11:00 AM

i wonder what happened? maybe they use the fpath/mplayerlive servers <img src="http://mplayer.org/mplayer.org/cbs_madlaugh.gif" alt="8)" title="mad laugh" longdesc="" height="28" width="28" />

anonymous - Posted on Tuesday, March 7 2006 05:36:00 PM

<span style="font-size:large; line-height:normal">So what you're saying is a lifetime account with livve means THEIR lifetime? ROFLMAO they probably joined Paltalk.</span>

<br/>
<br/>It was probably a solar flare

Uhhh Livve is no affiliation with either service fpath or mplayerlive and fpath and mplayer live have no affiliation.
<br/>
<br/>As for mplayerlive our servers are up and running <img src="http://www.mplayer.org/mplayer.org/cbs_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="smile!" longdesc="" height="20" width="20" /> The beauty of not relying on 1 single server to run everything, but 10 different servers so that we are never completely down, only a game or two is. <img src="http://www.mplayer.org/mplayer.org/cbs_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="smile!" longdesc="" height="20" width="20" />
<br/>
<br/>Livve got owned.

anonymous - Posted on Tuesday, March 14 2006 01:59:00 AM
I did that once, and this light bulb in the sky was so bright it scared me back into my cave. whats this livve thing anyways?

OK <img src="http://www.mplayer.org/mplayer.org/cbs_hm.gif" alt=":hm:" title="hm" longdesc="" height="19" width="19" />
<br/>What happened to the press release link I put in here about Stanley Green, owner of Livve? <img src="http://www.mplayer.org/mplayer.org/cbs_zz.gif" alt=":zz:" title="zz" longdesc="" height="23" width="25" />
<br/>Did someone toss it for some reason?
<br/>Or am I missing it?
<br/>Either way, here is is again: <a href="http://www.prleap.com/pr/27854/" target="_blank">http://www.prleap.com/pr/27854/</a> from another site

As many of you know Livve has shut their doors. Many members of livve have moved over to PCO Paradise Chat Online. They have free video, audio and games including their Spades, and nightly events. Calendar Of Monthly Events: http://freecal.brownbearsw.com/pco PCO Spades: http://www.pcospades.com/ PCO Main Website: http://pcomembers.com/homepage.html This is a great site that has been around for about 2 years now. Very friendy members and the support staff here is top-notch. There is always somebody online and there to help and assist.

yes fantaziachat is gone for now!, but this dont mean were still not working on it so dont feel safe just yet PCO ;) we closed the site as there was no point paying and using cash on a ghost town so we closed the doors but like i says this don't mean the project itself is dead its fare from it, infact we just successfully tested our new event host options for creating trophy rooms and special events along with our new admin section its coming along nicely source is for sale and pre compiled servers and clients are also for sale if you want to use it pco haha na just pulling your leg but we are still very much alive and still working on project ..... so watch this space for more information :)
