I'm using Ubuntu FF, the "about" menu in MPlayer doesn't so a version number, but since I just installed MPlayer from the Ubuntu Add/Remove menu last week, I should have a very recent version.

What I want to do with MPlayer is build a play list of Jpegs and movies and have it cycle through them slide-show style. Which online documentation seems to indicate is possible.

BUT, when I add jpegs to the playlist, they are simply ignored during playback. Only the actual movies play. So, how do I enable jpg playback in MPlayer?
